2020 October Monthly Report


Highlights

Very warm October for the northern and northwestern parts of the state with colder than usual conditions in Gulkana and coastal cities of Yakutat, Juneau and Ketchikan.

Kotzebue remains under moderate drought conditions for the third month in a row.

Anchorage has received significantly less snow this month: just over 10% of its normal snowfall for this time of year.

October 2020 has seen the largest departure from normal in sea ice extent than any month thus far in the satellite record.
