Highlights
Very warm December across the state of Alaska; multiple new high temperature records were observed in Juneau.
Dry with typically less than half average snowfall for the interior part of the state, and higher than normal for the panhandle (Juneau and Ketchikan) and in the far North (Utqiaġvik).
A new Alaska land-based low pressure record was set in the Aleutians when the barometric pressure dropped to 921 millibars.
The December average sea ice extent was the 3rd lowest in the satellite
record.
