Nome’s October mean monthly temperature was 37.7°F, a significant 9.0°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 59°F on the 12^th, which set a record for that day, breaking the old 1938 record by 1°F. Two more records were set, both breaking the record for their respective days by 1°F: on the 11^th a temperature of 52°F was recorded breaking the 1979 record, and on the 31^st 43°F was observed, breaking the 1911 record. The high of 44°F on the 29^th tied the 2002 record. The lowest temperature for the month was 16°F on the 21^st.

Precipitation was slightly above normal with 1.70” measured and 1.61” expected. Snowfall was just 2% of normal with 0.1” measured and 4.6” expected. The average wind speed was 13.4 mph while the highest wind speed was 55 mph from a southeasterly direction on the 29^th.
