Highlights

Nome was warmer than normal this March, with a mean monthly temperature of 12.3°F, 2.0°F above the expected 10.3°F. The warmest temperature was 34°F on the 22nd, while the lowest was -9°F occurring on both the 13th and 19th

Precipitation was 18% below normal with 0.53" recorded, while snowfall was heavier than expected with 12.3" observed, substantially above the normal of 8.9" . Over half of this snowfall fell on the 14th, with 7.1" recorded, shattering the previous 1954 recorded of 2.7". The average wind speed was 7.5 mph, with a greatest wind speed of 38 mph recorded on the 6th, from a northeasterly direction.
