Highlights

March temperatures in Nome averaged 8°F degrees cooler than normal and the average for the month was 1.2°F. The monthly high temperature was 29°F on the 19th, 20th, and 26th. The low temperature was -32°F on the 1st. Precipitation was 0.16”, 27% of normal. Snowfall was less than normal, totaling 4.7”, bringing the season-to-date snowfall to 43.5”, 11.7” less than normal for this time of year. There was 12 inches of snow on the ground at the end of the month, which is also well below average for Nome.
