Highlights

Nome's February mean monthly temperature was a massive 8.3°F above normal, with 15.7°F observed for the month. The 21st was the day with the highest observed temperature for the month, at 40°F, which also broke the old 1957 record for that day by 4°F. The next day the high of 35°F tied the 1940 record. The coldest temperature for the month occurred on the 8th at -12°F.

Precipitation hit the expected amount with 0.93" measured, equal to the long-term mean. Snowfall was 2.0" less than normal, with 10.2" of snow measured, and 12.2" normally expected. The average wind speed was 9.9 mph, with a highest wind speed of 43 mph occurring on the 28th from a westerly direction.
