Highlights

Kodiak was cooler than normal for October, having a mean temperature of 39.5°F, 1.0°F less than the expected mean of 40.5°F. The maximum temperature for the month (56°F) was observed on the 7th, and the minimum temperature was 24°F, reported on the 22ndand 29th. Temperatures were warm for the first half of the month, and then mixed for the second half.
Precipitation was light at just 57% of normal with a total of 4.71", 3.55" under the normal amount of 8.26". The average wind speed was 9.0 mph, while the highest wind gust occurred on the 15that 46 mph, blowing from a westerly direction.
