Highlights

Kodiak reported for November an average temperature of 28.4°F. The mean monthly temperature was 5.5°F below the long-term mean of 33.9°F. The maximum temperature of 45°F for the month occurred on the 3rd, 5th and 6th, while the lowest temperature happened on the 22nd at 4°F. Several new record low temperatures were set. On the 21st the low temperature went down to 7°F the old record low had been 11°F set in 1942. The following day the low went down to 4F the previous record low for that day was 12°F set in 2008. On the 26th the low slumped down to 7°F, the old record low had been 2° higher from 1963. Finally, on the 27th the low again dropped to 7°F just below the old record of 8°F, also previously set in 1963. Precipitation was reported as 4.53", only 66% of the long-term value however, 27.7" of snow were measured for the month, considerably (333%) above the expected value of 6.4". The mean wind speed was 12.4 mph and on the 12th of the month a gust of 62 mph was recorded, the highest value for the month.
