Highlights

Kodiak’s mean monthly temperature for June was 54.4°F, 4.7°F over the long-term mean. The highest temperature for the month was 80°F, occurring on the 16th, a new daily record, breaking the old record from 1939 by 2°F. The high of 70°F on the 13th was also a new high, topping the 68°F from 2003, while the high of 77°F on the 18th broke the 75°F record from 1936. The lowest temperatures was 38°F on the 7th.

Precipitation was light: a total of 3.08" were measured for June, nearly half of the long-term normal of 5.91". The average wind speed for the month was 7.8 mph, while the fastest wind speed was 36 mph, blowing from a northeasterly direction on the 25th.
