Highlights

Kodiak’s mean monthly temperature for July was 5.4°F above normal, with 59.9°F observed. The highest temperature for the month was 80°F on the 20th, a new daily record, breaking the 1955 record of 77°F.  Three days earlier, on the 17th, a temperature of 78°F was observed, breaking the record for that day, set in 1979 by 3°F. Then on the 18th the high of 77°F tied the 1977 record. The next day the high of 78°F broke the 1987 record by 1°F. The lowest temperature for the month was 48°F occurring on both the 1st and 15th.

Precipitation was just half of the expected 4.93”, with 2.46” measured. The average wind speed was 7.9 mph while the highest was 49 mph, from a northwesterly direction on the 23rd.
