Highlights

February’s mean monthly temperature for Kodiak was 30.0°F, just 0.8°F below normal. The highest temperature for the month was 46°F occurring on the 23rd, while the minimum was 9°F occurring four times: on the 10th, 11th (which set a minimum temperature record for that day, breaking the old 1996 record by 1°F), 12th, and 21st.

Precipitation was measured at 2.59”, 3.55” below normal of 6.19", while snowfall was just 85% of normal with 12.8” recorded and 15.1” expected. The total snowfall of 4.8" on the 15th set a new daily record, breaking the old 2012 record of 4.2". The average wind speed was 8.6 mph while the highest wind speed was 60 mph from a westerly direction on the 27th.
