April’s mean monthly temperature for Kodiak was 39.9°F, 2.3°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 54°F occurring on the 13th, while the minimum was 25°F occurring on the 2nd.

Precipitation was above normal and measured at 7.35”, 127% of the normal of 5.81". The total precipitation on the 5th of 2.04" set a daily record, breaking the 2004 record of 1.52". Then on the 22nd, the total of 1.23" broke the old record of 1.13" set way back in 1939. Snowfall was light at just 14% of normal with 1.1” recorded and 8.0” expected. The average wind speed was 11.1 mph while the highest wind speed was 53 mph from a northeasterly direction on the 3rd.
