April’s mean monthly temperature for Kodiak was 39.9°F, 2.3°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 54°F occurring on the 13^th, while the minimum was 25°F occurring on the 2^nd.

Precipitation was above normal and measured at 7.35”, 127% of the normal of 5.81". The total precipitation on the 5^th of 2.04" set a daily record, breaking the 2004 record of 1.52". Then on the 22^nd, the total of 1.23" broke the old record of 1.13" set way back in 1939. Snowfall was light at just 14% of normal with 1.1” recorded and 8.0” expected. The average wind speed was 11.1 mph while the highest wind speed was 53 mph from a northeasterly direction on the 3^rd.
