King Salmon September 2011


Highlights

King Salmon reported an average temperature of 47.8°F, very close to the long- term mean of 47.6. The high temperature for September was 63°F, recorded on the 6th and 9th of the month. The low temperature of 25°F occurred on the 28th. Two days earlier, on the 26th September, the first frost occurred with a temperature below freezing (27°F), ending the growing season. The precipitation total was measured at 2.25", 29% below the normal of 3.19". Despite the lower than normal precipitation totals, on all days of the month, except three, some rain, if even just a trace, was recorded. Average wind speed was 7.1 mph and the highest gust was recorded at 49 mph on the 12th.
