King Salmon March 2015


Highlights

King Salmon's monthly mean temperature was recorded at 30.4°F, 6.3°F above normal. The warmest temperature for the month was observed at 53°F on the 29th, which also broke the 1996 record for that day by 2°F. The coldest temperature was -11°F on the 14th. On the 19th, a temperature of 51°F was recorded which broke the record high for that day, set in 1983 by 1°F. Four days later, on the 23rd, the 51°F measured also broke the 1941 record for that day by 1°F.

Precipitation was heavier than normal, with 0.95" recorded, 0.25" more than normal. Snowfall was quite less than normal with a mere 5% of the expected amount, with 0.3" recorded. The average wind speed was 10.4 mph, and the highest wind speed was 44 mph, occurring on both the 2nd and the 15th, both from an easterly direction.
