King Salmon March 2014


Highlights

This March’s temperature at King Salmon was near normal, with a monthly mean of 24.4°F, a mere 0.3°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 52°F, occurring on the 1st, breaking a 1996 record of 49°F, while the coldest was ‑11°F on the 15th

Precipitation was also near normal, with 0.76" observed, 0.6" above normal. However, on the 14th, a 1990 precipitation record of 0.14” was broken, with 0.18" falling.  Snowfall was heavier than expected, with 8.8" recorded or 138% of normal. The average wind speed was 8.2 mph, while the highest for the month was 41 mph, occurring on the 12th from an easterly direction.
