King Salmon June 2012


Highlights

King Salmon reported an average temperature of 49.0°F, 2.5°F below normal. The high temperature was 78°F on 22nd of June, and this was a new record high. The former record had been 75°F, set in 2001. On the previous day, the temperature reached a high of 74°F, and this tied the record set in 1993. The low temperature of the month occurred on the 1st, with 32°F. There was a new daily record low on the 14thwith 33°F. The old record was 34°F set in 2002.
The precipitation total was measured at 2.47", 50% above the normal of 1.65". The rainfall on the 19thof 0.72" surpassed the old record for this day of 0.57", set in way back in 1955. Average wind speed was 8.4 mph and the highest gust was recorded at 36 mph on the 15th, blowing from an easterly direction.
