King Salmon July 2014


Highlights

King Salmon was 1.5°F warmer than expected this July, with an observed monthly mean of 57.0°F. Despite this, two daily low temperature records were set: one on the 17th with 36°F, breaking the 2010 record of 37°F, and the lowest temperature for the month. A second record low was on the 30th with 41°F, one degree lower than the old record from 1951. The highest temperature for the month was also found on the 30th, at 80°F, which set a daily high record for the day, breaking the old 2002 record of 79°F.

Precipitation was near normal with 2.38" observed and 2.30" expected, with only a 0.08" difference between the two. The average wind speed was 7 mph, with the greatest wind speed of 29 mph occurring on the 19th from a westerly direction.
