King Salmon February 2016


Highlights

February's mean monthly temperature for King Salmon was 34.8°F, a significant 16.0°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 48°F on the 25th, which also set a record for that day, breaking the old 1997 record by 2°F. The high on the 29th of 45°F tied that day's record set in 2004. The lowest temperature was 16°F on the 19th.

Precipitation was slightly heavier than normal, with 0.96" measured and 0.76" normal. Snowfall however was less than normal, with 4.7" measured, 78% of normal. Despite this however, the 1.1" that fell on the 18th tied the record for that day set in 1945. The highest wind speed was 57 mph from an easterly direction on the 29th, while the average wind speed was 11.0 mph.
