Highlights

Ketchikan's mean monthly temperature for October was 49.8°F, 4.5°F above the expected 45.3°F. The highest temperature for the month was 63°F on the 16th, which also set a record for that day, breaking the old 1954 of 59°F. The lowest temperature was 34.0°F occurring on both the 26th and 27th.

There was much heavier precipitation than normal, with 30.64" measured, 159% of the expected 19.22". Much of this precipitation came from daily records: on the 8th 7.21" was measured, breaking the old 1974 record for that day by 0.72", on the 9th 3.66" were measured, just topping the 2001 record of 3.36", and then on the 20th 5.38" were measured, breaking the old 1958 record by 0.86".
