Highlights

The mean monthly temperature for Juneau in May was 49.1°F, 0.5°F above the normal for the month. The highest temperature for the month was 71°F occurring on the 16th. The lowest temperature for the month was 33°F occurring on the 5th and 10th.

Precipitation was above normal with 5.19” measured, 1.79” above normal. A new daily precipitation record was set on the 8th with 0.65", breaking the old 2001 record of 0.58". Then on the 21st precipitation totaled 1.53", shattering the 0.39" record from 1968. The highest wind speed was 45 mph from a southeasterly direction on the 21st while the average wind speed was 7.8 mph.
