Highlights

The mean monthly temperature for Juneau in March was 27.4°F, 6.4°F below the normal for the month. The highest temperature for the month was 44°F occurring on the 26th and 28th. The lowest temperature for the month was 5°F occurring on the 5th.

Precipitation was slightly heavier than normal with 4.44” measured, 0.66” above normal. Snowfall was significantly above normal, with 32.2” measured and 11.6” expected. The snowfall total of 7.5" that fell on the 12th set a new record for that day, breaking the old record of 6.3" set in 2010. Then on the 14th, 7.2" of snow fell, also setting a daily record, topping the 1989 record of 4.2". The three-day snowfall from the 12th to 14th totaled 20.8", while 8 days of the month had more than 1" of snow. The highest wind speed was 43 mph from an easterly direction on the 11th while the average wind speed was 9.3 mph.
