Highlights

Juneau was warmer than normal in December, with a monthly mean temperature of 33.4°F observed, 3.5°F above the 29.9°F expected for the month. The highest temperature for the month was 46°F occurring on the 14th and 15th. The 46°F on the 15th tied the record for that day, set in 2005. The coldest temperature was 9°F on the 1st.

Precipitation was 2.55" less than the normal of 5.84°F, with 3.29" recorded for the month. Snowfall was also lighter than normal with a mere 3.5" of snowfall observed, or 22% of the 15.6" normally expected. The average wind speed was 5.2 mph, with the highest wind speed recorded for the month at 35 mph on the 8th and 9th, both from a southeasterly direction.
