Juneau's average temperature for December was colder than normal at 27.6°F, or 2.3°F below normal. The warmest temperature was a high 44°F recorded on the 14th, while the coldest was 5°F on 18th.

8.52" of precipitation was recorded for Juneau, which was 146% of the expected amount of 5.84". Snowfall was measured at 40.4" for the month, over double the normal amount with a whopping 24.8" more than expected. Two daily rainfall records were set this month, the 11th saw 1.24", breaking a record of 1.04" set in 2005, and on the 22nd there was 1.28" of rainfall, breaking a 1953 record of 1.19". While no snow records were set this month, there were 4 days of snowfall with 5.5" of snow or more. The average wind speed was 6.0 mph, with a fastest gust recorded on the 22nd at 53 mph, from a westerly direction.
