Highlights

Juneau measured a monthly temperature of 57.9°F, 2.0°F warmer than the normal mean of 55.9°F, 0.3°F above July and the 8th warmest August on record. The highest temperature for August recorded on the 12th at 78°F. The coldest temperature for the month was on the 29th, with 43°F recorded.

Precipitation was light for Juneau, with 4.90", or 86% of the expected amount of 5.73" observed. The 1.18" of rain on the 18th was a new daily record, topping the 1970 record of 0.94". The average wind speed was 6.4 mph, with a highest wind speed of 28 mph recorded on the 31st, blowing from an easterly direction.
