March was 2.5°F warmer than normal for Fairbanks with a recorded monthly mean of 13.9°F. The warmest temperature recorded for the month was 44°F on the 13^th, while the coldest was -21°F occurring on both the 8^th and 9^th. 

Precipitation was near normal, 0.21" observed just 0.04" below the normal amount of 0.25". Snowfall was less than normal with 3.1" observed, 1.8" below the expected 4.9". The average wind speed was 4.1 mph, with the greatest wind speed occurring on the 15^th, a 27 mph gust from a westerly direction.
