Highlights

Fairbanks had a mean monthly temperature of 0.7°F, 2.0°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 35°F occurring on the 14th, while the lowest was -41°F on the 12th.

Precipitation was 1.24”, 0.82” above the normal of 0.42”. Snowfall was measured at 23.3”, 188% of normal, 15.2” above the expected 8.1”, with over half of that amount falling from the 23rd to 25th. Each of these days set new daily record: on the 23rd, 2.8" broke the 1968 record of 2.5", on the 24th the 3.5" topped the 2008 record of 2.6", then on the 25th the 7.0" broke the 2011 record of 5.0". The highest wind speed was 32 mph from a westerly direction on the 26th while the average wind speed was 3.2 mph.
