Highlights

Fairbanks measured a mean monthly temperature in February of 1.0°F, 2.3°F above the expected -1.3°F. The highest temperature for the month was observed at 37°F on the 16th, while the coldest was -43°F, an impressive 80°F difference between the highest and coldest temperature of the month.

Precipitation was near average with 0.48" observed, 0.06" above normal. Just 4.0” or 49% of normal snowfall were measured as 8.1" are normally observed for the month. The average wind speed was a mere 1.7 mph, with a highest wind speed for the month of 50 mph, from a westerly direction on the 28th.
