Highlights

Delta Junction's mean monthly temperature was a substantial 7.7°F above the long-term mean, with a temperature of 55.3°F recorded. This also set a record for the highest mean monthly temperature, breaking the 1981 record by 1.1°F. Additionally the mean maximum temperature for the month was 66.6°F, breaking the 1942 record by 0.6°. The highest temperature for the month was 82°F on the 23rd, which tied the record from 1960. The coldest temperature was 30°F on the 1st.

Other daily high records events were: on the 15th the 73°F observed broke the old 2004 record for that day by 3°F, and then on the 18th the high of 75°F tied the 1993 record. Finally, on the 19th, the high of 74°F broke the 2002 record for that day by 2°F.

Precipitation was much lighter than normal with 0.04” recorded, compared to the 0.90" expected for the month; this was the third driest May on record for Delta Junction.
