Anchorage recorded an average temperature of 48.4°F, 1.5°F above normal. The highest temperatures for May were 70°F on the 26 and 27^th and the low of 29°F occurred on the 1^st. On the following day the last frost for the season was observed at 30°F. Precipitation was reported at 0.35", of which more than half fell on one day, the 4^th and from the 9^th to the 30^thno measurable precipitation was recorded. The monthly amount represents only half of the expected value. An average wind speed of 7.8 mph and a gust of 43 mph on the 20^th were noted.
