Anchorage had a mean monthly temperature of 19.2°F this March, 7.4°F below normal. The highest temperature for the month was 35°F on the 26^th, 30^th and 31^st, while the lowest temperature was -8°F on the 7^th.

Precipitation was slightly above normal, with 0.67” measured, 0.07” above normal, while snowfall was 104% of normal, with 10.3” recorded and 9.9” usually expected. Of the total snowfall, 8.4" fell on the 29^th, a new daily record, breaking the old 2001 record of 3.4". Average snow depth was twice normal. The average wind speed was 8.2 mph, while the highest was 42 mph from a northerly direction on the 1^st.
