Highlights

Anchorage was 3.6°F above the normal temperature, with a monthly mean of 58.8°F for the month of June. On the 17th and 18th, the warmest temperature of the month was recorded at 81°F, and on the 18th, broke the record for that day by 4°F, set back in 1959. The coolest temperature for the month was 44°F, which was observed on multiple days; first on the 4th to 6th, then on the 8th and 22nd. Due to the warmer temperatures, a record 17 days in June had temperatures of 70°F or higher, compared to the previous record of 14 days set in 1936.

Precipitation totaled 0.46" for Anchorage, a mere 47% of the expected amount. The fastest wind speed for the month was 40 mph, observed on the 19th from a southeasterly direction, while the average wind speed was 6.5 mph.
