Arctic Sea Ice Extent: May 4, 2023

May 4 2023:  Over the past week, the sea ice had a decrease, since last week, by a slightly lower rate of 2.03%, from the level on 04/27/2023  of 13.690 M km2 to 13.414 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was slightly higher than the anomaly of -0.472 M km2 on 04/27/2023 to a lesser negative anomaly of -0.391 M km2 on 05/04/2023 and so less anomalously negative for this time of year.
