March 23 2023: Over the past week, the sea ice has been going through some ups and downs and has now shown a net increase, since last week, by a very small rate at 0.31%, from the level on 03/16/2023 of 14.357 M km2 to 14.402 M km2 for this week; and so while I think we are in the sea ice decline season, it still is boreal Spring, and so some variability is not surprising.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was higher than the anomaly of -1.042 M km2 on 03/16/2023 to a lesser negative anomaly of -0.900 M km2 on 03/23/2023 and so less anomalously negative for this time of year.
