June 8 2023:  Over the past week,  the sea ice had a decrease, since last week, by a lower rate of 2.99%, from the level on 06/01/2023 of 11.907 M km² to 11.551 M km² for this week. 

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was lower than the anomaly of -0.582 M km² on 06/01/2023 to a greater negative anomaly of -0.622 M km² on 06/08/2023 and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
