Arctic Sea Ice Extent: June 5, 2025

June 5, 2025: The Arctic sea ice has experienced a slightly greater decrease for this week of 3.76% (last week’s decrease rate was 3.54%), from the level on 05/29/2025 of 11.813 M km2 to 11.369 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was higher than the anomaly of -0.4935 M km2 on 05/29/2025 to a greater negative anomaly of -0.6017 M km2 on 06/05/2025, and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
