Arctic Sea Ice Extent: June 20, 2024

June 20, 2024:  The Arctic sea ice has continued to decrease this week at a lesser rate of 2.93% (as opposed to last week’s decrease rate of 4.30%), from the level on 06/13/2024 of 10.985 M km2 to 10.663 M km2 for this week.

The  negative sea ice anomaly this week was lower than the anomaly of -0.545 M km2 on 06/13/2024 to a lower negative anomaly of -0.399 M km2 on 06/20/2024, and so less anomalously negative for this time of year.
