Arctic Sea Ice Extent: June 2, 2023

June 2 2023:  Over the past week, the sea ice had a decrease, since last week, by a higher rate of 3.96%, from the level on 05/25/2023 of 12.398 M km2 to 11.907 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was lower than the anomaly of -0.391 M km2 on 05/25/2023 to a greater negative anomaly of -0.582 M km2 on 06/01/2023 and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
