Arctic Sea Ice Extent: July 11, 2024

July 11, 2024:  The Arctic sea ice has continued to decrease this week at a greater rate of 9.17% (as opposed to last week’s decrease rate of 6.88%), from the level on 07/04/2024 of 9.402 M km2 to 8.540 M km2 for this week.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was higher than the anomaly of -0.474 M km2 on 07/04/2024 to a greater negative anomaly of -0.668 M km2 on 07/11/2024, and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
