September 29, 2022: over the past week, the sea ice has continued to increase by a greater rate from last week of 5.69%, from the level on 09/22/2022 of 4.836 M km2 to 5.128 M km2 for this week, and so we are now solidly (no pun intended) in the sea ice growth season.

The negative sea ice anomaly this week was greater from the anomaly of -1.558 M km2 on 09/22/2022 to a more negative anomaly of -1.657 M km2 on 09/29/2022 and so more anomalously negative for this time of year.
