In September Barrow's monthly mean temperature was measured at 33.3°F 1.2°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 50°F on the 7^th, while the lowest was 18°F, observed on the 26^th.

1.06" of precipitation were observed 0.34" above normal. 0.42" of this precipitation fell on the 2^nd, setting a new precipitation record for that day, breaking the 1996 record by 0.02". Snowfall was also heavier than normal with 9.5" observed, 5.1" above the normal of 4.4". A new snow record was also set on the 2^nd, when 4.4" of snowfall was measured, completely shattering the old 1925 record of 0.8" by 3.6". The average wind speed for the month was 14.7 mph, with a highest wind speed of 44 mph on the 3^rd from a northwesterly direction.
