Barrow had a warmer than normal in March with an average temperature of -9.9°F, 3.8°F above normal. The highest and lowest temperatures were 13°F on the 18th, and -43°F on the 15th. Precipitation amounts totaled 0.15”, 0.06” greater than normal. Snowfall totaled 4.1” for the month, which is 2.4” more than normal bringing the total season-to-date snowfall to 39.3”, 12.2” above average. A total of 11” was on the ground by the start of April. On March 10th, Barrow set a new snowfall record of 1.0”, breaking the old record of 0.8” set on that date just last year.
