Highlights

Barrow reported an average temperature in June of 37.3°F, 1.7°F above normal. The month was fairly close to the expected values, with the exception of warm days on the 15thand 18th. The 66°F on the 18thwas the maximum temperature for the month, while the 28°F on the 1stwas the minimum. No new temperature records were observed during the month.
Precipitation in Barrow totaled 0.09" just 28% of the long-term mean of 0.32". Some snowfall was observed on five days, for a total amount of 0.1". For the 2011-12 winter, the total snowfall hit 76.1", the second highest seasonal snowfall on record, a record that stretches back to 1920. The highest winter was 2008-09 with a total of 77.4". The mean monthly wind speed was 13.5 mph and a gust of 43 mph occurred on the 21st, blowing from a westerly direction.
