Highlights

Barrow had a monthly mean temperature for April 4.9°F above normal, with an observed temperature of 6.7°F.  The warmest temperature for this month was 29°F occurring on both the 23^rd and 24^th and the lowest was -13°F on the 15^th.

There was more precipitation than normal this month, with 0.46" of precipitation measured, 0.30" above the 0.16" normally expected. The total of 0.19" that fell on the 22^nd broke the daily record for that day, set in 1961, by 0.06". Snowfall, however, was much heavier than normal with 7.2" of snow 225% of the 3.2" normal.  The highest wind speed was 42 mph on the 8^th, blowing from a northeasterly direction, while the mean wind speed was 12.2 mph.
