Highlights

Nome had a mean monthly temperature of 2.3°F this February, 5.1°F below the normal of 7.4°F. The highest temperature for the month was 33°F on the 25th, while the lowest value was -29°F on the 19th.

Precipitation was slightly higher than normal with 1.03” measured, 0.10” above normal. Snowfall was 141% of normal, with 17.2” recorded, 5.0” above normal. 10.1” of snow fell on the 23rd, breaking the old record for that day, set in 1996, by 4.5”. The average wind speed was 8.5 mph while the highest was 52 mph from a northerly direction on the 14th.
