Highlights

Kodiak was slightly colder than normal with a monthly mean temperature of 39.6°F this October, 0.9°F below the expected 40.5°F. The highest temperature for the month was 54°F on the 3rd, while the lowest was 23°F on the 21st. On the 7th, a low temperature of 24°F was recorded, setting a new low record for the day, breaking the old 1982 record of 27°F by 3°F. The next day, the low of 25°F tied the record low set in 2007.

Precipitation was 71% of the expected 8.26", with 5.90" recorded for the month. Snowfall was slightly lighter than normal with 0.7" of snowfall measured, 0.4" below normal. The mean wind speed was 9.6 mph, while the highest wind speed was 55 mph from a northeasterly direction on the 2nd.
