Highlights

Kodiak observed a mean monthly temperature of 35.5°F in February, 4.7°F above normal. The highest temperature for the month was 45°F occurring on the 16th, 22nd and 28th, while the lowest was 17°F on the 9th. The high of 45°F on the 22nd tied the 1987 record.

Precipitation was 143% of normal with 8.79" measured. On the 20th 2.32" of precipitation was recorded, breaking the old 1977 record for that day by 0.32". Snowfall however was lighter than normal, partially due to the warmer than normal temperatures, with 10.2" of snow recorded, just 68% of the 15.1" normally expected. The average wind speed was 10.8 mph, with a highest wind speed of 54 mph observed on the 15th from a northeasterly direction.
