King Salmon October 2015


Highlights

King Salmon had a mean monthly temperature for October a whopping 9.3°F above normal, with 42.8°F recorded, and 33.5°F normally expected. The highest temperature for the month was 61°F on the 8th, which also set a record for that day, beating the old 2009 record by 3°F. The lowest temperature was 14°F on the 31st. Two other daily records were set; on the 26th the high of 53°F broke the old record of 50°F set two years ago. Then on the 27th a temperature of 55°F was recorded breaking the old record for that day of 52°F set in 2013. There were three tied daily high records: 57°F on the 5th set in 1957, 58°F on the 8th set in 2006, and 51°F on the 25th set in 2013.

Precipitation was 75% of normal with 1.57" measured and 2.08" expected. 0.4" of snow were measured, while 2.8" were expected. The average wind speed was 9.0 mph, while the highest wind speed for the month was 48 mph on the 26th from an easterly direction.
