Ketchikan's average temperature of 48.9°F in May was 0.4°F above the long-term mean. The highest temperature of the month measured 76°F on the 31st, which tied the old record set in 1957. The low temperature never dropped below the freezing point, and on the 11ththe monthly minimum of 35°F occurred. Monthly precipitation was measured at 9.83", 13% above the May normal of 8.70".
