Ketchikan’s temperature was near normal this March, with a mean monthly value of 37.0°F observed, a mere 0.8°F below normal. The warmest temperature recoded for the month was 55°F on the 30th, while the coldest was 10°F on the 4th.
Precipitation was 149% of the normal amount of 10.89", with 16.21" recorded. Part of this high total was the 2.14" recorded on the 15th, breaking the 1972 record of 1.90", as well as more significantly, the 5.20" that fell on the 11th, shattering the 1994 record of 1.99".
