Juneau had a mean monthly temperature of 40.2°F in October, 2.2°F below normal. The highest temperature for the month was 57°F on the 6th. The lowest temperature was 24°F occurring on the 11th, 12th, and 13th, on the 13th it set a record for that day for the lowest temperature breaking the old 1992 record by 2°F.
Precipitation was lighter than normal with 2.59” measured, just 30% of the normal 8.63”. Snowfall, however, was much higher than normal with 5.7” recorded, and just 0.8” normally expected. 5.1” inches of the monthly snowfall occurred on the 16th. The average wind speed was 4.1 mph while the highest wind speed was 37 mph from an easterly direction on the 13th.
